OVERVIEW

Pee Tracker User Guide

This document provides some hints in how to use Pee Tracker.

Versions of Pee Tracker

Pee Tracker has the following versions:

  • Free, you can set up reminder alerts, reminder programs, and see your recorded data in clear graphical form. But please consider purchasing the "Plus Features" to unlock the following:
    • Export recorded data in CSV
    • Able to change default quantity for drinks and pees
    • Able to change default program interval
    • Able to change reminder alert sound
    • Able to change quantity unit (quantity is tied with the region of your device in the free version)
    • Quantity step size is reduced to 0.1 (from 1) if unit is oz
    • Quantity step size is reduced to 5 (from 50) if unit is ml
  • + version, it's the same app as the free version with all the in-app purchase features unlocked.

The first time Pee Tracker launches, it will request permission to send you notifications. Pee Tracker requires this permission for reminder function to work. If you choose "Don't Allow" and later change your mind, please Allow Notification for Pee Tracker in the notification center on your device.

Tapping the "plus" icon will bring up the add Reminder view.

Add Reminder

You can set the activity type (Pee or Drink), choose to specify an exact time for this reminder (default), or choose to ask Pee Tracker to remind you some time later from now. In addition, if this reminder should happen every day at the same time, you can set the Repeat Frequency to Daily.

If you set the status of a daily repeatable activity to completed, Pee Tracker sets up the next one at the same time tomorrow for you.

Tapping the "text.badge.plus" icon on Reminders view will bring up the add Reminder Program view.

Add Reminder Program

Add Reminder Program differs from Add Reminder that a group of reminders will be created instead. The first of which will be on the Start time, followed by the next reminder Interval time later. This process will stop when the potential next reminder time has gone beyond the End time.

Similarly, you can choose to specify a later time for the program start. If the reminders in this program should occur daily, set Repeat Frequency to Daily.

Reminder List

After added some reminders, let's take a look at Reminders view. This view shows your uncompleted reminders for the day. Missed reminders are shown in red. A few other things to note:

  • Tap the circle to toggle a reminder complete/incomplete.
  • Tap on a reminder to view/edit its details.
  • Swipe left on a reminder to delete.
  • Information shown for each reminder and filter setting can be configured on Settings view. This will be covered in Settings section.

Marking a reminder as completed only hides it from the view. Deleting it will remove it from the system permanently.

Records

Records view shows you the list of activities you have recorded represented in graphical form. On the graph, solid orange bars represent pees, and blue ones are drinks you have had for the day. The count totals and recorded quantities for both pees and drinks are also shown.

On top of the graph, the difference between total quantities of pees and drinks of the day is also displayed. If you have set a drinking goal, a pie chart will be presented showing the percentage of the total quantity drank against the goal specified.

You will also find the "doc.on.clipboard" icon where you can copied the daily summary, data including number of toilet visits, number of drinks, total recorded volumes, and the difference, to the clipboard. This button is enabled only if a record has been entered for the day. This is a "Plus Feature".

Hollow bars will be drawn for activities that do not have quantities data. A few other things to note:

  • Swipe left/right or tap the double left/right arrow to change the date of the graph.
  • Single tap on the view or tap the "circle.grid" icon to go back to today.
  • The graph is drawn correctly in both portrait and landscape modes, as well as on iPad.

Notification and Recording Activity

The notification view will appear when a reminder occurs, where you are given the opportunity to record the activity and associated data. You can simply tap "Yes" to mark an activity has happened on this time. Quantity data is optional, however you can choose to enter it if you wish. The unit is dependent on the Region setting on your device. If it is set to US, the unit will be "fl oz", otherwise "ml" will be used. You can use the -/+ stepper to adjust the quantity, the default quantity (differently for pees and drinks) will be shown first and they can be changed in the Settings view.

If you choose "No", you can manually record the activity at a later time. This can be done by tapping the "plus" icon on the Records view, and then enter activity type, time, and quantity.

The notification view will appear in the flowing two circumstances:

  • Pee Tracker is in the foreground when a reminder occurs.
  • You tap the Pee Tracker notification popup from the notification center when the app is in the background.

Recorded Data

"doc.text" icon on Records view takes you to raw All Record Data view. Standard iOS interactions work here, you can tap to view details, and swipe left to delete. You can export recorded data in CSV by tapping the "square.and.arrow.up" icon. The exported data uses "fl oz" or "ml" unit for quantity depends on the Region set on your device. If you had previously entered data in different quantity unit, conversion will be performed automatically to your current Region.

The range of quantity data is 1 to 34 by step of 1 for "fl oz", and 5 to 1000 by step of 5 for ml in the paid or plus version. The step size and the minimum are 50 ml in the free version.

Settings

Settings view contains a few useful customizations that may improve your Pee Tracker experience.

  • Show Today's Reminders Only/Show All changes the Reminders view whether to show today's reminders or reminders from all dates. When Show All is selected, full date will be displayed on Reminders view. The date format is Region dependent.
  • Show Incompleted Reminders Only/Include Completed affects whether Reminders view is filtered by "completed" status.
  • If Set Goal is enabled, drinking goal pie chart will show on the Records graph page.
  • Program Interval specifies the default Interval shown on the Add Reminder Program view.
  • The quantity unit can be changed between ml and oz. The activity quantity data on the Records graph and data export are automatically converted to the chosen unit.
  • Currently three sounds are supported in Pee Tracker notifications, they are tri-tone, radar and aurora.
  • Clear All Reminders removes all reminders from the system.
  • Finally, Setup Sample Program creates a sample Reminder Program to give you an idea what Pee Tracker can do.
